On the evening of October 5th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the Phoenix Suns claimed victory against the Los Angeles Lakers with a final score of 119-115.

Two players for the Suns, however, walked away with hand injuries. Damion Lee subbed in for Cameron Johnson after Johnson sprained his right thumb, and later Cameron Payne sprained his right finger.

The Suns have two more preseason games on October 10th and 12th against the Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings, respectively, before the season begins on October 19th, at which point the Suns will square off first against the Dallas Mavericks.

In the previous 2021-2022 season, the Phoenix team made it to the Conference Semifinals before losing to the Mavericks 3-4. With a record of 64-18, the Suns placed 1st in both the Pacific Division and Western Conference.
