The wages in Arizona went up faster during 2021 than the average in the U.S. Wages across the country increased by 4.5 percent, the fastest wage growth the U.S. has seen in four decades. The Biden Administration was also happy to announce that people making lower wages got the biggest raises.
Low wage workers saw a 6.1 percent increase to their median wages, the strongest wage growth from the year. Arizona saw wages rise by 7 percent, more than one and a half times the national average. Greenlee County had the highest wage growth rate at 10.6 percent, but Maricopa County followed closely in second place. Maricopa saw wages increase by 7.7 percent over 2021, above the Arizona average and well above national wage growth.
